Administrative Assistant

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our nonprofit organization as a part-time Admin Assistant. In this role, you will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our organization while also managing our social media presence. Your efforts will contribute to our mission of building community to end poverty.

Job Responsibilities

Administrative Support:

  • Assist with general office tasks such as filing, data entry, scheduling, and correspondence.
  • Coordinate meetings, conferences, and events, including logistical arrangements and material preparation.
  • Assist with maintenance and updating organizational databases and records.
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries, providing accurate information or directing them to the appropriate staff member.

Social Media Management:

  • Develop and implement social media strategies to increase our organization’s online presence and engagement.
  • Create compelling and engaging content for various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and engage with followers.
  • Schedule and publish posts, ensuring consistency and alignment with our organization’s mission and brand guidelines.
  • Track and analyze social media metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Stay updated on emerging social media trends, tools, and best practices to suggest innovative ideas for improved engagement.

Collaborative Support:

  • Work closely with other team members to support their administrative needs and contribute to overall organizational efficiency.
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of fundraising initiatives, events, and volunteer activities.
  • Collaborate with program managers and staff to gather content and stories for newsletters and social media promotion.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in administrative roles, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Proficiency in using social media platforms and scheduling tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft engaging social media content.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to effectively manage administrative tasks.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with graphic design software and basic photo/video editing skills are desirable.
  • Passion for the nonprofit sector and a commitment to our organization’s mission.
Working Conditions
  • This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 20-25 hours per week, with flexible scheduling options. The Admin Assistant will work primarily remote with some evening and weekend work required to support meetings, events or social media campaigns.
  • The position may involve working with confidential and sensitive information, requiring strict adherence to privacy guidelines and ethical standards
