Chris joined Circles in 2018 as a recently divorced mother, a survivor of domestic violence and while mourning the loss of her son to medical complications. When she joined Circles, Chris was unemployed with no income, and had just two people in her circle that she could count on in a time of need. Throughout her time at Circles, Chris accomplished much: she found her voice, she shared her story, she sat on all of our panel discussions, she obtained employment, she obtained a raise and promotion, she put money into savings, she provided for herself and her daughter, and she became a role model in our community. She graduated from Circles in 2022, reaching 273% of the Federal Poverty Level. She is working full-time, has benefits through her employer, and now has eight people in her support network.
