Circles Salt Lake Coach

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and empathetic individual to join our organization as a Circles Coach. As a Circles Coach, you will play a critical role in empowering individuals and families to achieve their goals and overcome challenges. You will provide guidance, support, and resources to Circle Leaders (Participants), helping them navigate complex social systems and access the services they need. Your compassion, excellent communication skills, and ability to build strong relationships will be essential in this role.

Job Responsibilities

Participant Engagement:

  • Build trusting and supportive relationships with Circle Leaders, fostering an environment of respect, empathy, and confidentiality.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of Circle Leaders’ needs, goals, strengths, and barriers.

  • Collaborate with Circle Leaders to develop personalized action plans to address their specific needs and aspirations.

Coaching and Support:

  • Provide one-on-one coaching sessions to Circle Leaders, utilizing a strengths-based approach to guide and motivate them towards their goals.
  • Assist Circle Leaders in identifying and leveraging their strengths, skills, and resources to overcome challenges and achieve sustainable outcomes.

  • Offer emotional support and encouragement, helping Circle Leaders build resilience and navigate setbacks.

  • Facilitate weekly cohort meetings, initial and ongoing training courses.

Resource and Referral:

  • Conduct comprehensive research on available community resources, services, and programs relevant to Circle Leaders’ needs.
  • Assist Circle Leaders in accessing and navigating appropriate social services, such as healthcare, housing, employment, education, and legal support.

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information on eligibility criteria, application processes, and available funding options.

Collaboration and Advocacy:

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to coordinate and advocate for Circle Leaders’ needs.
  • Liaise with community organizations, government agencies, and service providers to enhance service coordination and promote participant-centered care.

  • Participate in conferences and meetings to discuss Circle Leader progress, explore solutions, and identify systemic barriers.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed and accurate records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and organizational standards.
  • Prepare regular reports on participant progress, outcomes, and program effectiveness.

  • Contribute to program evaluation and improvement efforts by providing feedback and insights based on participant interactions.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Prior experience working in a nonprofit organization, social services, or community outreach.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

  • Excellent active listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Empathy, compassion, and the ability to provide nonjudgmental support to Circle Leaders.

  • Knowledge of community resources, social systems, and public benefits programs.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Proficient in computer applications and data management systems.

  • Understanding of ethical practices and confidentiality guidelines in participant-centered services.
